old and new / demolition versus creation
When is something 'art'? What you see here is góing to be art, but isn't it already art because this was made intentionally?
Marjan Teeuwen is the artist. She makes photos of objects piled up in a certain way, in black or white or colourful. She then makes combinations of the photos with photoshop, which become huge prints.
Marjan worked 3 months in this house-to-be-demolished. She made holes in walls, floors and ceilings, collected black and white objects, bits of wood, metal, etc., built structures to support them, and piled them up in a very precise way. Then she took pictures.
After that we the public could come and see, and even take pictures ourselves. So these pictures are mine, not hers.
The next day the house was torn down.
